Fabergé Friday

Today's Fabergé object is a very royal-looking pendant, made by workmaster Erik Kollin, around the year 1900!

The center of the pendant consists of a gold coin of Empress Catherine II, dated 1779. The fromt side of the coin has been partially enameled in translucent red and flanked by four diamonds, while the back side is enameled in opaque white, and flanked by four rubies. The coin is then held inside a square openwork gold frame. The pendant's size is 3/4'' x 3/4'' (1.9 x 1.9 cm). The chain is 17 1/4 '' (43.8 cm) long, and the price for the whole thing is 18,500 USD. It can be found at John Atzbach Antiques!
